It is also concerned with connected processes and the lessons to be learned from them. The first step towards successful facilitation of training activities is the provision of clear working instructions. Visual aids and handouts repeating the tasks of an exercise are very helpful. When you facilitate an exercise, encourage your trainees to organise the process of working together as team. That means, for example, clarifying the task and the working steps which are necessary to fulfil an objective. It also means setting a realistic time management plan. This part of the learning process is the hardest, as participants will have to put into practice what they have learned and then they will be confronted with a feedback situation. Ideally the contents of the exercises should refer to the real-life, working situations of the participants and result in practical outputs, which may be used in the future.
